Ötzi "The Ice Man"

Over 25 years ago, a mummy was found high in the Alps Mountains along the border of Austria and Italy which turned out to be an ancient man who had died many thousands of years ago and who had been preserved under ice since that time.

This video marks the 25th anniversary of Ötzi's discovery...

Ötzi was found in the Ötzal Mountains; so he was named for the area where he was found.

He carried both a stone knife as well as a copper axe, which shows that he was living at the end of the Stone Age but also at the beginning of the Metal Ages specifically the Copper Age. This was also at the end of the last Ice Age.

He was using a lot of very important technologies.
